We are sad to announce that, due to low enrollment, we must cancel this year’s Sonya Kovalevsky Day. We hope you’ll be able to attend next year!
We have been fortunate to receive funding from the Association for Women in Mathematics to support our very own Sonya Kovalevsky Middle School Mathematics Day!
The purpose of these types of events is:
- to encourage young women to continue their study of mathematics
- to assist them with the sometimes difficult transitions between middle school and high school mathematics and between high school and college mathematics
- to assist the teachers of women mathematics students
- to encourage colleges and universities to develop more extensive cooperation with middle schools and high schools in their area.
Our event will be held on Saturday April 14 on the UNCA Campus, and a tentative schedule can be found here.
If you have any additional questions that aren’t answered on this site, please email Janine Haugh (faculty advisor) or Ashley Edwards (Vice President).
Would your daughter like to participate in the AWM at UNCA Sonya Kovalevsky Middle School Math Day?
